Durham Community Land Trustees

Durham Community Land Trustees’ mission is to build strong communities by developing, managing, and advocating for permanently affordable housing. In 1987, DCLT was founded by a group of neighbors .The organization has grown from one donated house to provide both affordable homeownership and rental units to the community.

The organization has grown to acquire, develop, or renovate over 300 rental units and supports 50 Land Trust Homeowners. As a community land trust, DCLT is a nonprofit organization that retains ownership of the land, ensuring the future affordability of housing in perpetuity.
