What: Summer Careers Academy "Building Our Future" Participant Information Session (1st of two)
When: Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 5:30pm-7:00pm
Where: Orange High School, 500 Orange High School Road, Hillsborough, NC 27278
Who: All 16-24 year old Orange County residents who are interested in participating in the Summer Careers Academy "Building Our Future" 2023 cohort are required to attend. Those under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present.
Why: This session is a required component of the application process to become a participant in the 2023 cohort. The session will 1) ensure all applicants have completed all elements of the application process and submitted all required materials and 2) provide an opportunity to discuss the program requirements and benefits, answer any questions, and address any concerns so that participants can be successful.
How: The 90-minute session will include Summer Careers Academy staff and partners, who will meet individually with each applicant (and parent/guardian if applicable) on a first-come, first-serve basis. Staff will go through the following checklist to ensure eligibility of each applicant:

Complete the Student Interest Form

Receive signed Parental/guardian Consent Form (if applicant is under 18 years of age)
Participants who successfully meet all requirements will depart with the 2023 program calendar, details on the employer matching process, and graduation requirements.
